Connor - THREE years

I keep saying this but I feel like I've missed so much with Connor. Ever since we had his brother when he was 18 months, time just flew by. I know I'm not the only parent that feels this way but sometimes, I feel like I am the only one! He was only 11 months when we were pregnant and things sorta went downhill from there. It was the worst pregnancy so I think most of my memories are of what I went through with the pregnancy.

It's so hard to believe that he's turning 3. He's such a character and he's talking so much. He's so animated and so cute! I love and hate this age. I love it because he's learning all these new words and learning how to communicate with us and says the cutest things. I hate it because it means he's growing up... just kidding. Okay, not really kidding. That's partially the reason but what I don't want to admit his is attitude. He's independence and need to test us.

Socks. He has this thing for socks. He's very particular about where the seam is near his toes. I wonder if everyone is like that only because I hate that part of the socks too!

Clothes. He's very picky about what he wears. I read all about how kids will choose their own clothes and that we should choose our battles wisely. Well, I prepared myself for this with his older brother. It never happened. Connor caught me off guard. One minute we're putting on a pair of pants and before the 2nd leg gets in it, he changes his mind! This may happen a few times while getting dressed.

Shoes. He loves shoes. He has lots of shoes. He's as picky about his shoes as he is his clothes. Most of his shoes are hand-me-downs of hand-me-downs. But he also gets new (clearanced) shoes. He loves spider man clothing although he says "batman". I never realized how much he cares about his clothes until one rainy day when I put him in his "Cars" rain boots for the first time this season... he walks into preschool and when greeted by his friends, he puts one foot up on the bench seat to show off his new (old) boots. Everyone was "ohhh-ing" and "ah-ing". They were like high school kids but littlier. It was bizarre to experience that. I thought it was cute.

He loves to give me kisses and it must be on both sides of my cheeks. Unfortunately we stopped giving kisses on the lips because he gets sick so often. In fact, he's been sick for a few weeks and I took him in yesterday and he has pneumonia.

This boy LOVES to snack. He loves chips. cookies. chocolate. candy. he's not so picky. He's addicted to the kiddy Transformer's Rescue Bots and loves to play games on his Fire tablet. It shouldn't be a surprise for most parents... kids love these things. His brother didn't and I know everyone is different but they're really different, I think.

I can't remember when it started but Logan and him will get into rough play. wrestling and piling on each other. Recently, Dustin has joined the fun. He teases Logan though and sometimes, punches and swings at him. Teachers at DT say that he's quiet and very shy (hard for me to believe). I guess it's good that he behaves in that environment. His last update said that he always asks to be excused from group time or whatever they're doing. This made me very happy.

He's pretty good with potty training. We haven't used diapers in a long time for naps. After months (around August 2015) of dry diapers in the morning, we started to leave him in just briefs at night (2 weeks ago) too and so far it's been good. He wakes up in the middle of the night to tell daddy he needs to pee. He had one accident recently with both #1 & #2 but that's expected.

One night I was laying with him in bed and I saw him dig his boogers and smear it on the wall! LOL There was a collection of it! Funny and gross! I also saw him put it in his mouth once. YUCK!

So we decided not to do a big party for him this year. We will take him out to do fun things!

We planned to go to the snow but on it's always bad weather but it was a month of fun!

Aerospace Museum of California - We took the boys to the aerospace museum. It was a rainy day so the crowd was small (yay!). We got to go into a helicopter and a plane. It was a fun day!

Wright's Beach - Okay, we already had this camp trip planned but I decided to do his 3 year photo shoot on this trip since we're so busy every weekend and it's been raining a lot. Which is good for California.

Movies - We took him to watch Kung Fu Panda 3 on his actual birthday! It was his first time in a theater. He loved it! He was laughing and having a blast! He did run to the bathroom a few times though!

Dinner - We took grandma (my mom) to dinner for her birthday on the same day and got a Fruit Basket cake for them. Grandma's birthday is 2 days before his.

Snow Park - We finally made it to the snow in February! Worth the wait because the weather was so beautiful and the boys had so much fun!
